Why Go Green?

There are a multitude of reasons for going green at least one for every for living organism on earth. In general a transition to green means conserving natural resources, reducing pollution, being energy efficient, protecting the environment and ecosystems and reducing climate change. The environment can have profound physical and mental impact upon people. 40% of children in the US have some food allergy. Over 4 million children in the US have asthma and almost one half due to residential exposures. Over 400,000 have dangerously high blood lead levels.

The United States is home to 5% of the world's population; but consumes 25% of the world's energy and contributes 25% of global warming pollution. Going Green means being aware of global social issues, because like the environment those issues are all connected. The greatest business opportunities of this century will be for green businesses solving environmental challenges. Green business will be the economic and employment salvation of economies worldwide. Going green makes people and businesses more efficient and more competitive when economic conditions change.

People everywhere are coming to grips with reality and going to work on solutions for declining oil and gas supplies, air pollution, habitat loss, water conversation and pollution, renewable sources of energy, energy conservation, and climate change. Everyday more people are changing their lifestyles do what they can to make a difference. The 18-34 year old demographic group which contains over 76 million people, will power the green economy and are the key to future economic growth in green technology. 64% of the group believes humans are the cause of climate change.

Over the 30% of the US adult population are considered LOHAS, "LIFESTYLES OF HEALTH AND SUSTAINABILITY" and is spending money consistent with their belief and the necessity for a greener world. 82% of Americans say they are still buying green products despite changes in the economy. Never before has there ever been such a broad range of economic opportunities for individuals with almost any background to succeed in business and help improve the environment at the same time. Going green is the right thing to do.
